Tell us about yourself.

I was born in Southwest Louisiana and have lived in the deep south my entire life. I love reading, gardening, traveling, and moving my body. I currently live in Lake Charles, Louisiana with my loving boyfriend and partner in life, Skylar. We report to our cat, Beaver Meatball, who rules the house with an iron paw.

How did you get started in your career?

Around early 2015 a local startup was causing a stir in my hometown of Lake Charles, giving long-loved local restaurants the option for delivery. Three years later I was living in Houston, TX managing the marketing for over 30 cities, and that startup became a publicly traded company. I learned I love the fast paced nature of startups, and Finotta has given me exactly what I was looking for in that regard.

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

Maybe it's cliche, but my dad has always been my biggest inspiration. He is the smartest and most hardworking person I'll ever know and has taught me to always tell the truth and find joy, even on tough days.

What is the best part of your job?

The Finotta team! Our team is a group of people who are serious about the work we do and care passionately about our goals.

What are you passionate about?

  1. I’m passionate about a lot of topics, but I've always been passionate about any and all music. I started piano lessons when I was 5 years old and continue to challenge myself to learn new pieces. Fun fact, I'm a classically trained singer and have been to more hip-hop concerts/shows than any other genre.
  2. I'm also passionate about whatever hobby I'm currently obsessing over. Right now, it's learning about the importance of native plants to support pollinators and assist in mitigating climate change!
  3. I am also very passionate about Mardi Gras.

What is the most challenging part of your job?

Marketing will never stop evolving, which makes it a challenge...but also fun.

How do you think we can improve positive work cultures in the fintech industry?

Our values outline a path to success that can be achieved by being as transparent as possible.

What advice would you give someone who is starting their career in your field?

Don't ever, for a second, think you should stop learning about your industry or field. Read books, listen to podcasts, and continue to learn and relearn anything you can.

What are some rules you live by?

"Never half-ass anything." - My dad, Terrance Hoffpauir

"Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible." - Frank Zappa

"A bossy woman is someone to search out and celebrate. A bossy woman is someone who cares and commits and is a natural leader." - Amy Poehler
